The HDX 900 is not a bad player, in fact build wise it is very good and definitely points the way NMT players should be going. Its weaknesses are the front fascia design which cheapens the feel of the unit, the lack of a component and/or SD video out connectivity, the two front LED lights - a complete show stopper for me and prevented us from enjoying the home movie experience; lack of any audio cables in the box (this maybe due to the early sample that I was reviewing), the “clicky” old fashioned on/off button on the front fascia, and the heat issues apparent with an internal HDD installed - due to the lack of any vent holes to allow generated HDD heat to escape and dissipate.
